The Rockford Family Planning Foundation immediately recognized the devastating consequences the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson decision would have for abortion access. The Foundation team consists of fierce reproductive rights activists who are working to open an independent abortion clinic in Rockford IL. And now we are looking to hire a team of clinic staff that will put the Foundation's mission into action! Our clinic is growing from the ground up. With growth we anticipate our benefits package and offerings to evolve. Our initial benefits program will consist of Paid Time Off, expert advice on selecting a health insurance plan on the Marketplace that best meets the needs for you and your family. A company sponsored Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA). Employees that elect an individual health insurance plan will receive a monthly contribution of $350 to an ICHRA to help offset the cost of health insurance. To help with retirement savings, employees will be eligible to participate in an IRA and receive a matching contribution of up to 3%.


Clinic Director 

$78,000-$83,200/annually dependent on experience

Job Summary:
Oversees all operations and management of day-to-day activities of an abortion and family planning clinic. Responsible for human resources management, leadership, coordinating operations and financial oversight and reporting. Responsible for quality services, efficient clinic flow, patient care, and fiscal responsibility within the clinic.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements: 

  • 3+ years of healthcare management experience in a setting that includes the provision of reproductive health care 

  • 3+ years experience leading others. Human resource oversight, developing, training and mentoring a team.

  • Ability to analyze data, problem solve, and make decisions related to medical practice management.

  • Knowledge of medical practice principles, practices, and procedures.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and payer regulations and requirements related to patient safety, infection control, and confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of business principles such as budgeting and organizational development. 

  • Skills in developing and monitoring budgets and maintaining cost-effective practices.

  • Skills in creating educational programs for patients and staff. 

  • Organized systems-thinker. 

  • Excellent communication skills. 

  • Critical and creative thinker. 

  • Inclusion and equity champion to create an inclusive environment where all people feel a sense of belonging.

Advanced Practitioner 

$48-$55/hour dependent on experience
Job Summary:
Under the direction of a Clinic Director, performs advanced nursing care to ensure patients receive excellent care. Manages the medical abortion program. Provides patient education and counseling. Assist physicians in clinical areas. Responsible for lab work. Trains and mentors co-workers. Helps to ensure an efficient clinic flow.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements: 

•Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Nursing required 
•Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant  
•Minimum of 5 years healthcare experience, preferably in abortion care or women’s health 
•Sedation experience preferred 
•Ultrasound experience preferred 
•Experience with EMR and documentation preferred 
•Problem solving skills 
•Ability to prioritizing and effectively manage time 
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Ability and willingness to train other staff and help non-clinic staff learn more about medical practice 
•Preferably (but not required)  fluent in Spanish 
•Commitment to reproductive justice and ability to provide judgment-free abortion care
•Ability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays, early mornings  and evenings as required


Registered Nurse

$40/hour dependent on experience

Job Summary:
Under the direction of a Clinic Director, performs the administrative and clinical support tasks to ensure high quality care to patients. Provides patient education and counseling. Assist physicians and RNs in clinical areas.  Helps to ensure an efficient clinic flow. Responsible for room preparations and clean up.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements: 

•High school diploma or GED
•Medical assistant certificate preferred
•At least 1 year experience working in a healthcare setting performing back or front office medical assistant duties, preferably in reproductive health
•Experience with EMR and documentation preferred
•Basic Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology
•Phlebotomy skills preferred
•Problem solving skills 
•Ability to prioritizing and effectively manage time 
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Preferably (but not required)  fluent in Spanish

Front Desk Administrator 

$19-$22/hour dependent on experience
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Clinic Director, responsible for patient flow including patient registration and check out process. First contact for anyone calling with questions or to schedule an appointment. Contributes to quality assurance. Manages reimbursements and is responsible for paperwork management. Orchestrates clinic flow to ensure a high level of patient care and maximize efficiencies.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements: 

•High school diploma or GED required, higher education coursework preferred
•Minimum of 5 years in an administrative or customer service setting
•Office manager or similar experience preferred
•Cash handling experience required
•Excellent communication and rapport-building skills both on phone and in person
•Strong organizational and time management skills
•Strong teamwork and cooperation skills
•Excellent customer service skills
•Good computer and keyboarding skills
•Ability to document accurately
•Ability to work and adapt quickly in a high-paced atmosphere
•Background in health care, pregnancy and reproductive health - preferred
